Arrow First Look: Meet The Huntress
Thanks to Entertainment Weekly, fans are able to get a sneak peek of actress Jessica De Gouw, in full costume as DC character The Huntress, who is described as the extreme version of Arrow, only “seeking revenge and not caring who gets caught in the crossfire.”
The character which debut in 1960 was daughter of Batman and Catmwoman and was raised to become the perfect athlete. After her mother was blackmailed to return to a life of crime and was subsequently killed for it, Helena became the Huntress to bring her mother’s murder to justice.
In 1989, the Huntress series debuted by creators Paul Levitz and Joe Staton, based their character Helena Rosa Bertinelli off the 1960 version. This incarnation, was born to a high ranking mob family in Gotham City. At a very young age, she kidnapped, assaulted by a rival family and then sent away to boarding school. When Helena is 19 her family is murdered and with the help of her bodyguard she becomes the Huntress vowing to have her vengence.
The character is said to debut in episode six, which is entitled “Muse of Fire” premiering on November 28, which marks the first episode of two in which fans can expect The Huntress to make an appearance in.
